Built on the site of the Alton Gardens (planted in 1800 by the 15th Earl
of Shrewsbury (who died in 1827)), the gardens first opened in 1860.
The Tussauds Group acquired the gardens in 1990.

Black Hole
A space age, indoor pitch-black ride. The ride is 50 feet high and
reaches a maximum speed of 45 miles per hour and hits a maximim of
2.5 G's over its third of a mile track. The Black Hole can swallow
up to 1660 passengers every hour.
Corkscrew
A double loop-the-loop coaster that pulls 3Gs.
Runaway Mine Train
A runaway engine pulls your train around the 1000ft track twice in
Kantanga Canyon. You trundle along at a bracing 10m/s -- watch for
startling track angles and low hanging obstacles.
A £10 million wonder from B&M, this ride reaches a maximum speed of 50
miles per hour in its one and a half minute duration. The rider will
experience a maximum of 4Gs on this one!
This ride is a vertical drop in to oblivion, literally. The ride
reaches a maximum speed of 110 km/hour (68 mph) over its 373m (1223 ft)
track. The ride features a 55m (180 ft) drop and experiences a maximum
of 4.5Gs.
